Along the way, you’ll encounter the Ubushina Shrine (founded over 1,200 years ago), the Shikoku Pilgrimage Temple No.78, Gōshō-ji, and Jōsen-ji Temple, built during the Azuchi-Momoyama period.

The first half captures the eerie calm before the storm—gentle rainfall with distant rumbles of thunder echoing across the town. In the second half, the scene transforms into an intense soundscape: deafening cracks of lightning overhead and the pounding rhythm of heavy rain.

Filmed on September 20, 2025, at 11PM, during the passage of a massive autumn rain front that stretched across half of Japan, this recording became an unforgettable experience. I had expected heavy rain, but the explosive thunder that shook the town far exceeded my imagination. At one point, the storm forced me to take brief shelter under the eaves of a small roadside shrine, highlighting the raw power of nature in this historic setting.
