Описание: Willow trees along the Escondido Creek Watershed are dying at a scale never seen before. Local authorities have asked UC ANR experts to investigate the cause. UC Cooperative Extension plant pathology specialist Akif Eskalen visited the area and took plant samples. He determined the cause of the die off is a fungal pathogen, which he is now trying to identify by studying its DNA. Once the pathogen is identified, Eskalen will work on control measures.
