Defeat the beast that once was Father Gascoigne.
Recommended Level: 20
Father Gascoigne is the first non-optional boss you'll fight in the game. You'll encounter him at the end of the Central Yharnam area after crossing the boulder bridge above the pig enemy in the sewer. As soon as the fight starts head to your right towards the tree. Keep this tree between you and Father Gascoigne for the entire fight and use charged heavy attacks (Pushing and Holding R2) while using the two handed version of your weapon (switch weapon types by pushing ) to attack Father Gascoigne through the tree while using the tree to thwart his charge towards you. The Hunter Axe weapon is great for this method because of it's larger sweeping heavy attack, but any of the starting weapons will do the job. Once Father Gascoigne is slain, the trophy will unlock.
