A tragic accident occurred in Kodavoor ward, Udupi district, where a worker lost his life after a sudden soil collapse during an open well construction work. The incident took place while workers were engaged in stone-setting work inside the well.

According to reports, workers from Koppal district had arrived for the construction work. One worker managed to escape, while 25-year-old Ramesh, originally from Koppal, got trapped under the collapsed soil. Rescue operations were carried out by fire and emergency personnel, police, and local residents using JCB machinery. Sadly, the worker’s body was later recovered.
