We follow the potato year on this 3 season in our true potato seed TPS project. I'm working on breeding new genetically unique potato varieties from seed over several years. It is important for food security in a future with more and more potato diseases where the old varieties no longer do as well. Although we are only a small off-grid farm / homestead in Norway, we see that we have a unique opportunity to work on this over several years. This year we are experiencing that our own food potatoes get more diseases and can see with our own eyes that it is worth it when we harvest our one true seed potatoes that are completely healthy. This year we also get to taste the first 38 varieties and sort the number down. We develop over 60 completely new potato varieties from seed, and get a lot of new species to work on for the next season, and learn a lot.
