3. PREMPEH COLLEGE: Prempeh College is an all-male top notch school located at Sofoline, Kumasi in Ashanti Region. Established in 1949 being the first secondary school in the region.  4. Tepa senior High School: Tepa Senior High School in the Ashanti region at Tepa of the Ahafo Ano North district has emerged as the highest performers in the 2020 WASSCE in the Ashanti Region, the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced Wednesday.

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum following the outstanding performance of the school Monday presented citations to Authorities of Tepa SHS and other 11 Senior High Schools in the Ashanti region for excelling in the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The idea did not receive much support those days until in 1979, when Rev. De Graft Johnson, who was the then Superintendent Minister in charge of the Wesley Methodist Church, had the vision and took a bold decision to set up the school with eleven students.
