The Cowboys lost a very big game we figured they’d win against the Lions. The playoff scenario is straightforward: Dallas needs to win out and Philly needs to drop two for the Cowboys to make the playoffs. But the discourse afterward mostly concerned George Pickens. He had five catches for 37 yards, which isn’t what you want. That led Richard Sherman to say a whole bunch of stuff on Amazon’s broadcast about how he wasn’t trying, which led Pickens to release a very hilarious response on IG that included the line “Don’t speak on me unless you know the game.”

Don’t look now, but the Mavericks are looking frisky. After going 5-15 to start the season, Dallas is 4-1 in its last five, including wins over three playoff-caliber teams in Denver, Miami, and Houston. What’s changed?

The College Football Playoff didn’t wind up featuring any representation from schools up this way, but there are two Texas teams in the field and, hey, we’ll all be watching this. We won't be watching any of the teams that decided to take their ball and go home.
