I think of this as the story of Amanda — a friendship that stirs so many emotions in her. Amanda is selfless, strong, and incredibly supportive. She’s in love with her best friend, Clarissa. She could tell her how she feels, reveal how deep her love runs. Amanda could do so many things to make Clarissa see her — really see her. But she knows that wouldn't make Clarissa happy.

Clarissa is already in love. Things with Mark are rocky, but they’re still trying to make it work. Unfortunately for Amanda, she’s the one who holds Clarissa while she cries — and that hurts deeply. The last thing she wants is for Clarissa to be unhappy.

Instead, Amanda teaches her the importance of self-worth — that she must first love herself before she can truly let someone else in. Amanda stays with her through her lowest moments and supports her decision to make things right with Mark, because Amanda knows he’s the one Clarissa truly wants.

She’s just an observer. A friend who will always be a friend — and nothing more.

Amanda will smile and be genuinely happy for her best friend. She will love her until her last breath, even if it brings her pain. Every breath feels heavy, but maybe with time, it will lighten. Maybe she’ll find peace. Until then, she won’t say a word. Clarissa’s happiness is what truly matters to Amanda, and she won’t jeopardize that.
