We almost skipped Surat Thani, Thailand — and that would have been a huge mistake. Known mostly as a transit town on the way to the islands, we ended up staying one night and discovered a surprisingly vibrant night market filled with incredibly cheap and delicious street food. Sometimes the places you don’t plan for turn out to be the most memorable.
If you're traveling through southern Thailand, don’t rush past Surat Thani — slow down, explore, and come hungry.
