We travelled out over the Macdonald Bridge through Dartmouth and Eastern Passage to explore some of the beaches close to downtown Halifax. Our first stop was Silver Sands Beach and then Flag Pond Costal Access Point (and area directly beside a cottage we had planned to rent last year).
We then stopped by Rainbow Haven Beach Provincial Park. This beach is ideal if you like to wander out from shore in shallow water before reaching the sand bars, where the waves get bigger. We them moved on to Conrad Beach. Parking is limited so be prepared for a walk. Once you get to the boardwalk the view is stunning. (This was our favorite beach.)
We finished our day exploring Halifax Beaches at Lawrencetown Beach Provincial Park. This is wear you can find the East Coast Surf School and some great waves.
