Today we ask the question, did Jesus claim to be God? Throughout the New Testament, things are attributed to Jesus which are the prerogative of God alone. Things such as being worshipped (Matt.2:2; 14:33) and accepting worship (John 20:28). Jesus also encouraged the disciples to pray to Him (John 14:14). And He is described by the Apostle Matthew as being sovereign over nature (Matt.8:23-27).
Crucially, Jesus forgives sin (Matt. 9:1-8), and he will be the judge on the last day (John 5:22ff). The truth about Jesus demonstrates that there are irreconcilable theological differences between Islam and Christianity.
