Welcome to Episode 34 of Missouri River Bottom!

We’re kicking things off today behind the wheel of the legendary Big Bud 650, pulling that massive Bourgault Air Drill as we work to finish up the headlands on our brand-new MEGA soybean field. This is one of the biggest fields we've tackled yet, and there’s still some work left to do — we’re running low on seed and fertilizer, so our first task is refilling the seeder to keep this operation rolling.

Meanwhile, our two dedicated workers are wrapping up fertilizing duties over on the giant wheat field we started spraying in the last episode. That field's nearly done, but our spring fertilizing push is just beginning — we’ve got another 850+ acres lined up and waiting to be sprayed!

Once the wheat field is fully treated and the soybeans are in the ground, we’ll fast-forward time a bit and move into early June. That’s when things really ramp up — we’ll begin spraying our corn and soybean fields, and it’ll also be time to start selling off our soybean stockpile from last fall’s harvest.

Right now, we’ve got close to $2 million worth of soybeans sitting in storage, ready to hit the market. And yes, we’ll be putting that money to good use! I’m planning to pick up a few more combines to get ready for our biggest harvest yet — but that’s not all. Today, we’re also upgrading our spraying game by adding another Fendt Rogator to the fleet, replacing our smaller John Deere 4730.

That means we’ll be running dual Fendt Rogators, each with a 40-meter boom — giving us an incredible 80-meter spraying width when both are running side by side. With over 1,000 acres to manage this spring, that extra efficiency is going to make a huge difference.

So buckle up, fire up your engines, and let’s get to work — because on this MEGA farm, there’s no such thing as a slow day!
