During the Special Comprehensive Revision (SIR) of the Voter List in Telangana, 73.39 lakh names were deleted from the draft list. These include deceased, missing, shifted and voters registered at more than one place. Hyderabad had the highest number of deletions of 19.41 lakh names, including 13.45 lakh permanently shifted, 2.99 lakh missing and 1.56 lakh deceased. This was followed by Ranga Reddy with 12.87 lakh names and Medchal-Malkajgiri with 10.71 lakh names. A total of about 43 lakh names were deleted in the three districts. After the SIR, the number of voters in Telangana has come down from 3.38 crore to 2.64 crore. #telanganasir #chiefelectioncommissioner
