Описание: If you received an e-file rejection notice or a letter from the IRS saying that your return was rejected or won’t be processed because you were missing Form 8962, then this video will explain why you are getting these notices and how to fix it.


The form 1095-A is a health care statement that you receive if you have Marketplace insurance. If you get insurance through Marketplace insurance (sometimes referred to as Obamacare), you may qualify for advanced premium tax credits, which are often referred to as subsidies. Taxpayers receive different amounts of subsidies depending on their income, filing status, and number of dependents.


At the end of the year, when you are filing your taxes during the tax season, you need to reconcile the amount of subsidies that you received from the government (which was based on your estimated income for the year) against what you actually earned and what was your filing status; dependents, etc. That is done on Tax Form 8962. So form 1095-A flows into tax form 8962, which in turn flows into Tax Form 1040.


The IRS receives all the same forms you receive. If you don’t reconcile your advanced premium tax credits on your 1040 and don’t include tax forms 1095-A and 8962, then your tax return will be rejected. To fix the problem you don’t need to amend your tax return, but rather just include the two forms and re-submit or send a copy of them to the IRS.
