But on the other hand, sometimes it's also a relief to know we know how long we're expecting because my dad has been kept in this limbo of not knowing how long the sentencing will be, how long this process will be, and I think for a lot of political prisoners in Hong Kong, they have also shared that a lot of the time waiting for the sentencing is really the most difficult part. But of course for me, there's also this part that I don't know how my dad has been doing because we were not able to speak to each other or contact with each other, and not with my family either. So of course a part of me also really wants to know how he feels about it, how he felt like the moment when it was announced, but in general, still inside of me I'm very angry that this is all happening, I think it's ridiculous. But at the same time I've have heard and seen in court reporting that he seems okay, so I'm, I feel a bit relieved about that.”

“I think this case really shows how Hong Kong government is willing to use the judiciary court as a way to justify any of the political prosecutions they want to make. And with this case, you see a lot of the evidence or like the arguments by the prosecution really don't add up, but really the judge wants to pin it down on my dad. And even in the judge's verdict and the document, he also said that part of the reason why he decided to jail my dad is because my dad's action would so-called lower the likelihood of me going back to Hong Kong to stand trial and to receive whatever punishment they want to hand out. And I think that's just ridiculous. I've never intended to return to Hong Kong and I don't know what kind of logic they're trying to make here, but it's very blatant that this is transnational repression. They're taking hostage of my father in the hopes of luring me back to Hong Kong, and I'm not going to let that happen.”

“Since going into exile, since the bounty and of course now with this case, with the added layer of the court saying that we cannot contact each other, you suddenly realize talking to your family is something you always wish to do but sometimes not everyone is able to do. So, I think in a sense, I really hope that people who have the liberty to talk to family to treasure that. And at the same time, of course, now it's a lot of calculations and a lot of thinking whenever I try to reach out to people. And it's not only my family, it's also childhood friends, people I grew up with as well. And that's precisely what the government wants to do. They want to tear people apart. They want tear apart the love you have for each other. And sometimes I think they know the reason that I want to fight for Hong Kong is because of people, it's because of Hong Kongers. And they want to stop my love for people. So, yeah, I will, even if I cannot talk to them, I will not stop loving people I love.”
