However, the industry as a whole seems to struggle this generation - as proven by endless studio shutdowns and price increases. Call me a weeb, but Japan seems to be in a more confident position. From big hitters like Resident Evil Requiem to surprise comebacks like Fatal Frame 2 and new IP like Pragmata, Japanese game releases could be the main pillar of the gaming industry in 2026.
