A lofty sea cliff located along the southern coast of the island of Madeira, in the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira, geographically part of Africa.
These famous, iconic cliffs on the island of Madeira are known as Cabo Girão. Rising 580 to 589 meters (roughly 1,900 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean, they are considered the highest sea cliffs in Europe and among the highest in the world.
