Finally, the wind began to decrease, and slowly the sea calmed down. So, out came the Gennaker! But the surprises were not over yet. On the last night, a monstrous fish hooked onto our line, sparking an exhausting battle. We had never seen anything like it. After over 2 hours of fighting, during which the entire crew strained their arms, with a final blow, the fish broke the line, gaining its freedom. Fortunately, shortly afterward, a small consolation arrived.
We dedicate this Atlantic crossing to our friend and great seaman, Marcello Polverari, who set sail with us from Almerimar but was forced to abandon the journey to the Canary Islands due to a sudden deterioration in his health. We learned of his death during the last part of the crossing, and it was shocking.
