We shouldn't discourage and put down players for not wanting to do non matchmade activities we should instead encourage them to give them a chance much like the trials rework did.

Gatekeeping loot helps nobody make more creative sources and lift others up to more difficult content

Ritual weapons are a perfect platform to lift players to endgame content such as raids, grandmaster nightfalls, and Trials of Osiris. In addition to that who wouldn't want an adept ascendancy or null composure it would be extremely good.
