The USDA’s dietary recommendations began with the Basic Seven food groups in the 1940s and have changed many times since. The point here is that we’re always learning, and adapting based on what we learn.
Our family’s curiosity about food really took off when my daughter was in first grade, learning to “Eat the Rainbow.” That started us exploring, but like many families, we eventually slipped into the “quick” habits of busy lives. Now we’re working, alongside all of you in QL Crew, to figure out what works for each of us — individually — by staying curious and open to trying new things.
