In a major development in the fight against Left-Wing Extremism, 124 Maoists surrendered before Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Telangana. The surrender ceremony was held in Hyderabad in the presence of senior police officials.
According to officials, the surrendered cadres belonged to the banned organization Communist Party of India (Maoist) and its armed wing, the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army. Many of them had been active in Maoist-affected areas across Telangana and neighboring states.
