Описание: Exercise Yama Sakura is an annual trilateral exercise between the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, US Army Pacific and Australian Army that originated in 1982 as a Japan-USA bilateral exercise. After a decade as observers, the Australian Army participated in Exercise Yama Sakura for the first time in 2023. 2025 marked the third consecutive year of the Australian Army’s participation in the demanding, formation level, command post exercise to plan trilateral land force operations. Held in August 2025, Exercise Yama Sakura 89 deepened Australia’s close, enduring and regionally indispensable partnerships with Japan and the United States, enhancing the mutual understanding of each other’s forces and bolstering regional operational cooperation.
