IRS tax processing needs 'more modernization': H&R Block CEO

Tax professionals are already looking far ahead to the 2024 season after major IRS slowdowns in recent years. H&R Block (HRB) CEO Jeff Jones joins Yahoo Finance Live in-studio to touch upon the demand for improvement in the IRS' tax processing system. "At the end of the day, when you try to call to ask 'where's my refund?' and you probably don't get the IRS, you call H&R Block, and we can't answer that question for you once we hand it off," Jones details. "The consumer... we see every single year, they need their money. This refund is a really important part of their life." Jones also discusses H&R Block's business outlook as taxpayers switch to do-it-yourself tax programs and software.
