Caring for a peace lily should be pretty easy, but sometimes the leaves can start to droop.

I bought my peace lily from Pike's nursery and after having it about 5 days, the leaves started to droop on me.

I was devastated.

I didn't know why or what to do.

So after researching, I found that these 5 reasons are usually the culprit:

1. Overwatering - Overwatering the peace lily is one of the main reasons the leaves start to droop. Make sure there are holes in the bottom of your container. Also stick your finger in the soil to make sure that the soil is not too soggy. If you have overwatered it, do not water it again until the soil is completely dried out.

2. Underwatering - If you haven't watered your plant in a while, this could cause the leaves to droop. It's good to water your plant at least once a week. If you stick your finger in the soil and its super dry, you may need to water your plant.

3. Too much sun - Peace lilies are low light plants. They do not need nor like a lot of sunlight. Their leaves are fragile and will start to wither and wilt if they are exposed to too much sun. Move your plant to a location where they are not in direct sunlight.

4. Root Rot - Root rot in the peace lily plant is caused when the roots sit in water for too long. This will cause the roots to be mushy and eventually they will rot. If this has happened to your peace lily, you will need to move it to another container and put it in new soil.

5. Transplant Shock - If you've recently moved your peace lily plant to another container, this can cause your plant leaves to droop. Your plant is getting used to its new home. The leaves drooping is showing signs of stress. The best way to help your plant is to not mess with it. Do not water it or fertilize it.

After watering my peace lily and moving it to another location in my house, my peace lily bounced back within 24 hours. So your plant is NOT dead! You can bring her back to life.
