I wouldn't call this a tutorial, but rather it's a documentation of my experiment with developing Eastman Double X 5222--that was pushed to 400--this time using a new (to me) Caffenol recipe that I found on a Flickr discussion. That discussion can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/3305163...
I used the one referred to as "Formula 327," which can be found if you scroll down a bit.
Usually I use the Delta Std recipe for all of my Caffenol developing, but I wanted to try something different, since this film is very different than what I usually shoot. In fact, I rarely shoot 35mm film at all, preferring medium and large format 90% of the time, and almost always 100asa. I really like the contrast and grain structure I've seen from Double X, however, and I plan to use it a lot more in the future, experimenting with different developers until I get something I really love.
If you have any experience developing Eastman Double X in Caffenol and have had good results, please feel free to share below!
This is the app I use in the darkroom as a timer:

All photos were shot using a Nikon FM with a 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens, and a 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor lens. Video was made using a Sony A7rii and cobbled together in DaVinci Resolve 15. Keep an eye out, because my next video will be about my adventures with my new Intrepid 4x5 camera!
