Clay covers basic maintenance procedures for both power chairs and scooters. This includes the difference between a parallel and series circuit battery, and explain why power wheelchairs and scooters generally use 24 volts rather than 12 volts. He will also explain the charging systems and tricks on checking for proper charge as well as maintenance tips for controllers. Amy will discuss how to take basic evaluations of clients to fit them for a wheelchair by reviewing anatomical landmarks and how to properly measure an individual. This training was made possible by the Utah Assistive Technology Program.
