We start the video with a discussion on the Dyson V11 Outsize weight. It weighs more than any previous Dyson cordless vacuum. We walk through the weights of the different V11 and V10 models.

We also feel that the unit is rather large and bulky. The movement is still good but you can really feel the extra weight in the upper end of the vacuum cleaner (where it is held).

Dyson cordless vacuums are all actually 2-in-1 machines. They are both a stick vacuum and - with the removal of the wand and cleaner head - a handheld vacuum. We compare the Outsize handheld component to that of the V7 Motorhead handheld component. In short, the Outsize handheld is much larger and heavier. You wouldn't want to do extended handheld work with this and you probably wouldn't find it that easy to work with in cramped quarters like a vehicle interior.

The Outsize only comes with one cleaner head which is a high torque cleaner head. This cleaner head is best on carpet and only average on bare flooring. Our V11 Absolute included a soft roller cleaner head which really improves hard floor cleaning performance. It would have been nice if a soft roller cleaner head was provided with the Outsize, but it is not. Also, Dyson does not appear to make an extra wide soft roller cleaner head for the Outsize that you can buy separately.

We find that the Outsize is a rather expensive vacuum. At the time of this video Dyson was asking about $800 for the Outsize and about $730 for the Outsize Origin. At the same time one can get a Dyson V11 Torque Drive for $600 or less.
