We Found A Rope Swing 160 Feet Deep Inside This Tennessee Pit Cave

Описание: Join us on an epic underground adventure as we find a rope swing in the bottom of this deep Tennessee Pit Cave! In this video, we visit what many consider to be one of the most spectacular pit caves in the United States. Our journey begins with a scenic one-mile hike up a rugged mountain trail to reach the impressive entrance.

The pit drops approximately 160 feet straight down into a massive underground chamber measuring over 200 feet across. Inside, you'll find natural decorations such as towering stalagmites, elegant flowstone formations, and the sheer awe of standing in such a vast subterranean space. While there are no horizontal passages branching from the bottom, the chamber alone is worth the trip.

Even more fascinating, old-timers have told us stories of how they used to rig up a rope swing at the bottom of the pit, soaring back and forth across the huge underground room. Can you imagine the thrill of swinging through a chamber over 200 feet wide, deep beneath the surface? Well watch along as our friend, Joel did just that to experience what the old timers used to. No worries though as we did have someone up top, watching the rope pad and rope to ensure there was no damage occurring.

This cave has a rich social history as well as it once served as a local gathering spot. Over 100 years ago, a winch and platform were constructed across the pit’s mouth, allowing visitors to descend into the depths by bucket, for just a dime!
