Описание: «Spellemann» nominee John Derek Bishop has for a number of years made a name for himself as an exciting voice on the alternative electronic music scene in Norway. Six improvising vocalists now meet a musician with the opportunity to manipulate the already exploratory vocals. Bishop's live sampling of the vocalists spontaneously processes the recordings into new sounds and textures. Nuances in the female voice, textual improvisation and harmonies meet a harder electronic expression.

Vok Ens (https://vokens.no) is a Norwegian/Swedish vocal ensemble using free improvisation to explore the voice and its possibilities for expressions. In 2021 they released their debut album «Vok I» on the record label Situ!Rec with Anita Kaasbøll as the producer. John Derek Bishop (alias Tortusa) is a Norwegian/American electronic musician and producer from Stavanger. Together they released their album "Sentient" on Jazzland Recordings, and as part of their release tour they performed an improvised piece of music on Yellow Sessions Stavanger Festival in February 2023.
