Jim Hotaling back again with Youssef. Youssef, there is currently published a survey from 2018,
CEOs around the globe stated that, and these were 80% of the respondents, stated that they did not have the talent internally to their organizations to carry out their strategies. So how did we get to a place in a business that almost 80% of all CEOs globally that responded to the survey,
said they don't have the right people?

Well, this is a very complex question. I think that one of the answers could be due to the fact that the world is accelerating. The world is changing every day. That technology is breaking rules and reinventing the world every day. People who are working in companies were trained in different academic systems and they were trained to a situation of the time. But when they go to their businesses they're confronted with realities that are changing too quickly for them to keep up with what's happening.

So I think that one of the solutions would be to redesign the training systems, the education systems, to teach people how to learn in a very fast-changing environment. To learn how to learn. Not to learn specific skills or learn specific technologies or techniques, etc. But learn how to learn in a very changing environment. So this is for me one of the key things and this will keep people,
even when they're working for companies, in the right mindset continue to acquire new skills when they're working with their companies. Which is not how we're dealing with the situation today.

The pace of change is so quick today. We have to be thinking about tomorrow right now cuz it's in seconds. It's not in minutes, it's not in hours anymore.

Pulling the future-forward.

Exactly.

Because we don't know what will be the future. We cannot train today our people to react to this future. They will have to react to the future when it becomes a reality and the main skill that they will need to have is how to, how to react and how to learn the skills needed to react. It's a very complicated question, but if people aren't critical thinking, open thinking, skill sets that enable people to be all the time challenging themselves and discovering new things and not staying on
old years' convictions are very key to success.
