Everybody knows the Virginia peanut — but they call them that no matter where they're grown. We can pinpoint the first place in the U.S. peanuts were planted — it's in Virginia of course. They've been around since the 1600s, but they really started making fans after the Civil War in the 1860s. Now they're seen as a superfood — heart-healthy and absolutely delicious.
