About The Instructor:
Gregory Gibbons has over 40 years of experience in the Oil Industry, 38 of which have been specializing in Drilling Fluids. He has worked worldwide for all the Major Service Companies including Baker Hughes, MI Swaco and Halliburton and have held various Field Operations & Management positions. Since 2010 Greg has worked as a Fluids Advisor for Operators in Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East and has worked on every continent except Antarctica.Greg started his career as a Trainee Driller in Trinidad and rose through the ranks to Assistant Driller. He moved into Drilling Fluids in 1976 and in 1990 began working overseas and quickly became the “go to” guy for difficult and remote operations from the deserts of Yemen to the mountains of Pakistan. The last 6 years he has been the Fluids Advisor for Operators in Vietnam, Nigeria and Kurdistan. In addition, he is a lecturer at the Drilling Academy in Trinidad and mentors and advises young professionals in the Drilling Fluids field.
