Rumor has been that modern BMW have materials issues and lots of coolant feeds that become brittle and break readily. CONFIRMED as per the Car Wizard admonishment
At only six years old most of the hose fitments and the smaller ones are failing or now brittle to the point of breaking without alot of care in disassembly.
I blame the green party of Europe and either recyclability demands or other content demands that make the cars a worry. The Japanese or Americans are not pushing the OEMs this far. Be WARE of Euro sourced cars of recent years.
This repair also took much longer than needed as the design has lots of obstruction for maintainability and too many things need to come off that BMW in the past would not have allowed. Some of these things are also now brittle. Be very careful with this repair! It takes 4-5 hours or more, if all goes well!
Shot mostly with Iphone 16 which worked ok, and phones are now necessary to scope on conditions of repair
