This study will show the application of neural network damper models on full vehicle co-simulations and compare the effect of it on ride metrics when compared with regular damper models. The damper models based on force-velocity lookup tables don’t capture important characteristics of the dampers and more complex 1D damper models using fluid properties sometimes are not compatible with Realtime simulations. Hitachi Astemo has been working on a machine learning solution to improve the representativeness of damper models and help the OEMs on the path for virtual tuning.
