The Orange River was left behind for a while, and we headed for Port Nolloth. An urgent need to do laundry and just a resting day after the intense few days in the Richtersveld. The road is in a good condition and traveling so much easier but not way as exciting.
Port Nolloth was an incredible nice surprise. We did not expect such a beautiful place far from big coastal cities. It is a gem in a dessert with great people and super great views. This diamond delving and fishing village has so much to offer.
The house that Dee opened for us was perfect. It is huge and comfortable with all you need. Our laundry was done by Lucinda from Bubbles Bizzy Bee Laundry.
We had cake and coffee at Bella Du Port and chatted to Mercia. What a woman!
The SPAR shop is well stocked, and we bought what we needed for Kgalagadi.
Sitting on the Promenade is just so relaxing and tonic for the soul. The waves just come and go and the bell on one of the beacons dong-dong continuously to warn incoming boats of the shallow rocks. Boats go up and down in the ocean. Some diamond prospectors and some fishing boats.
Then the sun sets and the colours in the sky change. How good is this.
Then we set of for Molopo Lodge. It is about a 700km drive on a very straight road. The flowers were not as great as we saw before.
Steinkopf at least had some children posing for us.
Molopo Lodge is surely an oasis in the Kalahari dessert. We camped again and had our own bathroom.
