In this episode, you will improve your English listening skills with a real-life conversation at a Restaurant.
Dining out is fun, but what happens when things go wrong? Complaining politely about the food or the service is a difficult skill for many English learners. Today, we roleplay three common problems: receiving the wrong order, finding a dirty glass, and spotting a mistake on the bill.
📝 In this lesson, you will learn:
How to politely tell the waiter that this isn't what you ordered.
The correct phrases to point out a dirty glass or utensil.
How to ask for a correction when the check (bill) is wrong.
Cultural tips on how to complain without being rude.
🔑 Key Vocabulary & Phrases:
"Excuse me, I think there's a mistake": A polite way to start a complaint.
"This isn't what I ordered": (Esto no es lo que pedí).
"Could I get a fresh glass?": How to ask to replace a dirty item.
"On the house": When the restaurant gives you something for free as an apology.
"Overcharged": When you pay more than the correct price.
Check / Bill: The paper that tells you how much to pay.
