Oshkosh 2025! This Pilot got Confused on Arrival — Then Departs Wrong Way

Описание: On July 21, 2025, a Cessna N4301R departed Marshfield Municipal Airport en route to Wittman Regional Airport. The pilot became confused about the approach pattern and was heard expressing doubt, saying, “I don’t think I am ready for this.” Despite ATC advising a diversion to Appleton or Fond du Lac, the aircraft continued north, overshooting the pattern and ending up near Berlin. The pilot eventually spotted Oshkosh and apologized for the trouble, saying, “Sorry for being a pain.”
On Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m., the pilot of N4301R attempted to depart from Oshkosh following the earlier incident. According to ADS-B data, the aircraft taxied northbound from the South 40 area onto Taxiway P, during a time when OSH was actively departing aircraft from runways 27 and 18R. From the audio, it seems flagmen were directing the aircraft off TWY P. (Note another aircraft taxiing in the opposite direction.) Oshkosh (N430) has no ground control—aircraft taxi via flagmen using visual signals. 01R appears to follow the flagmen’s instructions and turns off, then contacts the tower. OSH is currently using runway 18R for southbound departures. No response from ATC—01R might not have been heard or controllers were busy. Instead of retrying, 01R taxied onto TWY P and took off against traffic flow from a taxiway.
