With the option of a Free Hotel Shuttle, Regular Metro Train or High Speed Maglev Train to the airport, I think the choice was a very easy one...
A couple of short Metro trips with a transfer and I was at Longyang Road Station to catch the Maglev train.
A One Way ticket to Pudong International Airport (PVG) was ¥50 (AU$10, US$7).
Whilst the Shanghai Maglev Train can easily cruise at speeds up t0 431km/h (270mph), for the 30km distance to/from the airport, the speed is restricted to 300km/h and completes the journey in less than 8 minutes.
When leaving Longyang Road Station the acceleration was very smooth, yet at the same time very rapid, hitting 301km/h in no time at all.
At full speed, smooth is an understatement, and with all corners banked, without looking out the window it was hard to believe you were travelling at that speed,
