Zimbabwean social justice movement, the National Democratic Working Group (@NDWGZimbabwe), has labelled the proposed draft legislative changes to extend presidential terms from five to seven years and potentially keep President Emmerson Mnangagwa in office until 2030 as a "coup in motion".
The organisation says it has submitted a petition to African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, urging the AU to intervene.
Zimbabwe's cabinet has backed draft legislation that could significantly reshape the country's political landscape.
