...You get the idea. Today is a simple post, I'm gonna be going back to my roots for a minute. Just to, uh... just to share this tape before it falls into complete obscurity. Y'know. Fulfilling that special little "archival" role my channel served all those years ago. Treatment was a very short-lived punk band from Denton, Texas. The band put out this four-track tape in 2014 before almost-immediately disbanding come early 2015 -- as per usual when it comes to a lot of these bands. I don't know anything about the group beyond that, beyond the members' apparent involvement in groups like The Sentenced (https://thesentenced.bandcamp.com/alb..., Sin Motivo (https://sinmotivo.bandcamp.com/), and the Wiccans (https://wiccanspunk.bandcamp.com/rele.... You can tell a tape is pretty goddamn obscure when this is the best quality album art I could dig up. I think I remember seeing the tape for sale from some online distributor a very long time ago, which had a high quality scan of the cassette's j-card, but naturally, the webpage appears to have been completely expunged from the internet since then. This tape is that buried. It's tragic, really, because Treatment fucking rules. Even after all this time, that mid-track acceleration in the album's opening song, "Dirty" -- the tempo abruptly discharging from its mid-paced dirge into a crazed frenzy of wiry riffs, oscillating, chorused basslines and neck-wringing drumbeats --, still hits me like an adrenaline shot lodged straight into my sternum. In addition, the warbled, goblinesque vocals, gnashing its proverbial teeth at you like a rabid animal struggling against the chains binding it, are truly timeless in this eternal realm of weirdo-outsider punk bullshit. If you haven't listened to this album already, do yourself a massive favor and slurp up this bowl of noxious punk gruel. As far as I'm concerned, "Frat Brains" is a true underground punk hit that never really had chance to exist outside of the Blogsphere.
