INTRODUCTION:
Its a "Bogie Manipulator" developed in Wagon maintenance depot at New Guwahati, by the team of M&P section.
It is designed according to the requirement for repairing and maintenance works (such as down-hand welding, grinding, painting etc.) of wagon bogies have mechanical rotating or tilting the work piece i.e the bogie at ideal positions for operation.
WORKING PROCESS AND FUNCTION:
This manipulator can be rotated from 0° to about 160° infinitely having capacity from 100 kgs to about 2 tons. The revolve unit is driven by a manual handle attached to a gearbox and a crankshaft. The machine is coupled with 4 nos of manual clamping for locking of the bogie as a safety aspect.
CONCLUSION:
So, by proper adjustment it can make the workpiece at optimum welding position, attaining purpose of reducing labour intensity, improving welding speed, guaranteeing welding quality, as a result improve the working efficiency for repairing or maintenance works of the wagon bogie.
