The Town of Holly Springs unveiled a new historical marker at First Baptist Church of Holly Springs. Hear from current church leaders about the significance of this marker, and learn about the legacy of influential church founders and members.
The church dates to 1865 when a group of about 50 freedmen pooled their resources and purchased a half acre plot of land. Services were held in a log cabin until the church building was constructed. The original church structure burned, and all documents were lost. The present structure was built in 1880. Brick facing and memorial windows were added in the early 1950s.
