Start to finish in 2WD on Horse Pasture Road in South Carolina

Описание: The start of Horse Pasture road you can hardly tell that it isn't paved. The closer you get to jumping off rock the more "off road" it feels, but it is still a road and unless you were out there in the pouring rain after it had been raining for 3 or 4 days straight you will not have any issues in 2WD on this road. The biggest issue with this road is that it is actually to smooth so people feel like they can drive 45mph around blind curves. Last summer I actually came up on a vehicle that rolled over because the drivers thought they could take the turns faster than they actually could.

When I started backpacking and camping I only had a 2WD vehicle. I found myself not going into certain areas or trails because of that limitation. I would look for video's on what the road is really like, but most of them were edited down into short camp or hike videos and not clear if a 2WD vehicle could make it. I have since upgraded my situation and now have a very capable 4WD truck, but I have not forgotten about the times when I didn't. Now I am revisiting the roads and trails with my 4WD truck that I was afraid to attempt with my 2WD truck. The idea is to drive the entire thing in 2WD and make note of any spots you might need 4WD, if any. It is also a video of the entire road or trail so you can see for yourself if it is something you want to attempt. This is something I would have found useful before getting a more expensive 4WD truck and something I would still find useful for tougher 4WD required trails (watch my gulches video to see what I mean).
