I look at three Sony Blu-Ray players that illustrate the evolution of a new technology from its beginning, middle, and end (almost). At each stage, manufacturers need to figure out how to "get the nickels out" in order to reduce the cost, as the technology first gets bought by "early adopters", and ultimately becomes mainstream.
