In this project, a DC motor with a wheel is controlled using an L298N motor driver and Arduino Uno through PictoBlox. The L298N driver is used to safely control the motor speed and direction using digital signals from the Arduino, while an external battery supplies enough power to run the motor smoothly.
The DC motor is connected to the OUT terminals of the L298N motor driver, and the driver’s IN pins are connected to Arduino digital pins. The battery pack is connected to the 12V and GND pins of the motor driver to provide motor power.
In PictoBlox, keyboard control is used to operate the wheel:
When the UP ARROW key is pressed, PictoBlox sends a signal to the Arduino, activating the L298N driver and the DC motor starts rotating, causing the wheel to move forward.
When the DOWN ARROW key is pressed, the signal is stopped, and the motor turns OFF, making the wheel stop rotating.
This project helps beginners understand motor control, keyboard-based input, and the use of a motor driver for higher-power components. It is ideal for robotics basics, STEM learning, and school-level Arduino projects.
