True Devotion to Mary is a classic of Catholic Mariology. Multiple popes have commended it, but it has long horrified Protestants. In this video, I try to work through its main arguments, understanding it on its own terms where I can, and offering my honest concerns where I can't.
As I state in this video, I'm not trying to dunk on Catholicism. This isn't a gotcha, not least of which because this isn't a magisterial text. Instead, it's an attempt to do ecumenical theology, which must be rooted in conviction and charity. Hopefully I struck that balance ok.
