In this video, I fix the ESP warning light on a Mercedes C180 Kompressor (2004) caused by fault codes C1036 and C1172.
After diagnosis, the issue was traced to a failed steering angle sensor module, which I replace using part number A169 464 15 18. I explain the symptoms, diagnosis, replacement process, and final fix, including clearing the fault codes and confirming normal ESP operation.
This guide is ideal if your ESP / traction control light stays on, especially after battery issues, steering work, or unexplained ABS/ESP faults.
