A man has died following a shooting in the Ybor City vicinity of Tampa, Florida, which local police believe arose from a "roadway dispute."
Tampa Police officers were dispatched to the vicinity of E 5th Avenue and N 22nd Street on Friday night, November 14, 2025, after receiving reports of a gunshot. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The shooter, identified as an adult male, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The individual has claimed the shooting was in self-defense, and the firearm used has been recovered by police. Authorities have stated that there is currently no ongoing threat to the community.
🚧 Area Closures
Due to the ongoing police investigation, several streets were closed:
N 22nd Street between E 4th Avenue and E 5th Avenue.
E 5th Avenue between N 21st Street and N 22nd Street.
The incident is still early in the investigation phase.
