Physical therapists at Metzger Animal Rehab Center in State College, PA recently took a Swimmer Puppy named "Daisy" in for treatment. The SPCA asked for the Center's help to get her to walk.
Swimmers are puppies that haven't the ability to walk or stand due to various factors. They need therapy to strengthen their muscles. This activity sometimes requires hobbler harnesses and significant time with a physical therapist.
The SPCA has limited resources to care for such puppies and sometimes are forced to euthanize them because of their conditions. Daisy was rescued and with the help of Animal Therapist Anne Risaliti, she's able to walk, run and play with gusto! She's also got a new owner and is off to a happy life!
