Van zijn leermeester Camille Saint-Saëns erfde Eugène Gigout (1844 -1925) de liefde voor de orgelkunst.
In zijn orgelwerken merk je de vormvastheid van Gigout, met name in zijn bekendste werken: zijn TOCCATA en si mineur, die in deze video te horen en te zien is, en het SCHERZO en Mi majeur uit zijn 10 Pièces gepubliceerd in 1890.
Na zijn afstuderen fungeerde Gigout een tijdje als assistent van Saint-Saëns aan, La Madeleine.
In 1863 werd hij organist van de St. Augustin, waar hij het orgel kon bespelen dat Peschard & Barker in 1865 opleverden.
In 1899 reviseerde de firma Aristide Cavaillé-Col dit orgel.
Naast lesgeven en componeren speelde Gigout, als organist-titularis de missen, waarbij hij uitblonk in improvisatie.

Gigout inherited the love for organ art from his teacher Camille Saint-Saëns.
In his organ works you notice the stability of Gigout, especially in his best-known works: his TOCCATA in B minor now played in this video, and SCHERZO in E major.

The 10 pièces pour orgue (composed 1890) include the Toccata in B minor and SCHERZO in E major two of Gigout's best-known compositions for organ.
After graduation, Gigout acted for a while as Saint-Saëns' assistant at La Madeleine.
In 1863 he became organist of St. Augustin, where he could play the organ delivered by Peschard & Barker in 1865.
In 1899 the firm Aristide Cavaillé-Col overhauled this organ.
In addition to teaching and composing, Gigout played as organist-titular masses, excelling in improvisation.

ORGAN
The organ 2 keyboards and pedal, 24 stops, was built in 1913 by the Fa. E.F. Walcker from Ludwigsburg, Germany.
The organ fell into disrepair after the death of Jan Bosch in 1948.
We have to thank the enthusiastic members of the church in Wildervank that this instrument is again entirely refurbished.
In 2001 the organ was completely restored by the firm S. de Wit.
The disposition is largely brought back to the situation before the changes from the 1960s.
The organ was entirely pneumatic.
This has now turned into the electro-pneumatic system.
The current disposition is complimented with the Gedeckt 8 ' on the pedal.
A new console is placed.
The old console remained in its original place as a "historical monument".
In 2013 the organ was extended with a Voix Céleste 8’ and an Oboe 8’, also the Synthematophon has been set to a higher pressure and a sub- en super coupler was added to the swell.
